It's been a busy couple of weekends, but busy in a good way.
Two weeks ago I went back to Fresno to attend
Big Hat Days, the opening of Rodeo Month in Clovis. That was a lot of fun. I took Friday off, drove up, my mom and I went on Saturday, lazed about on Sunday and then I had lunch with
loupquiguerit on Monday and drove back home. The drive back was interesting considering it poured rain and hail right before I left and there was a three car wreck on South I-5 in North LA that kept me jammed up for about an hour.
Big Hat Days pictures This past Saturday, I drove down to the
Carlsbad Flower Fields with a friend. I have been there twice before, but always at the end of the season. She couldn't remember ever going. This was the first time either of us had been there right after the whole field was in bloom. It was quite amazing.
Flower Fields pictures After the Fields, since we happened to be in San Diego anyway, I drove her by my townhouse and showed her around Ocean Beach. We walked out to the end of the OB pier; a place I spent a lot of time after college. We had dinner at
Aladdin's Cafe, one of my favorite places to eat in San Diego, before heading back.
