The Continuation of Stuff

Work continues to be terrible. I can't wait for the day to end and the weekend begin - not that I'm planning to do that much with it, but just so that I can be away from this bloody desk.

My grandmother's doing well in hospital and should be ready to return hoem in the next few days. I weighed myself this morning and found I've lost about three or four pounds since giving up all chocolate biscuits and pizza, so perhaps I won't have to send off for a bra in the near future after all.

I got a call from Phil (one of my old friends who I no longer see very often) yesterday evening and he gave me details for Stu (another not-seeing-very-often friend)'s wedding and stag do later on this month, which ought to be a fun reunion of old faces. Phil also mentioned that he's going to be a dad in November, which kind of shocked me. Not only are all my old friends settling down but (okay, perhaps a bit inevitably) the first family-units are starting to appear as well. Wow. That's made me feel a whole lot older.

And finally, as the 100,000 word milestone draws close, finally some characters in my novel have had sex. There's not much point describing the circumstances, as I've revealed so little about the plot anyway, but it happens on a slightly uncomfortable pebbly beach and only came about because I decided on adding a flash-back to explore somebody's history in more detail. Marvellous news; my first step towards becoming a Jackie Collins-esque smut peddler.

Nine Inch Nails/Tempel 1 impact on Monday. Hooray!
