Shut up and swallow

I was woken on Saturday morning by a commotion in the living room; Coco had caught a sparrow and brought it into the flat. I had a lengthy fight with her, resulting in a lot of overturned furniture, but eventually prized it away from her, still flapping and struggling, and let it go outside. It was able to fly off; I suppose we should be grateful for the small mercy of Coco’s puny little teeth.

Later in the day, I made my way south of the river to visit my family. It was my one surviving grandparent’s eightieth birthday, so we all drove to see her together. I mingled with a lot of relatives from the Sunderland area, who I’d not seen in years and barely recognised, but it was fun. While I was in the area, I grabbed a huge pile of my old artwork and packed it all up, ready for the Alternative Bring & Buy next weekend. Many of these pictures have been gathering dust since 2001 in my old bedroom, so it will be great if I can finally shift them, especially now my eBay shop is defunct.

Yesterday - Combichrist at the Leccy Ballroom

I took a lot more pictures, many of which are probably better
than this one, but haven’t sorted through them all yet.

Absolutely amazing! I’ve managed to miss them on two previous occasions, but they were totally worth the wait. It wasn’t the longest set ever, but they played most of my favourites, plus a couple of brand new songs and the atmosphere was just incredible. I’m feeling exhausted today (the bloody cat kept disturbing us during the night, too!) and my ears are still ringing a bit, but it was worth it. It’s just a pity that’s probably my last big night out for a few weeks now…
