NYE (again)

Dec 11, 2006 17:00

Further to my earlier post on the matter, I'm still feeling kind of lost as to how to see in 2007. We don't want 2007 to think we're rude now, do we?

I picked up a flyer yesterday for The Torture Garden's NYE ball* in Brixton, which does look cool. It's £35 a ticket for non-members, which is rather a lot (especially since I did wuss out of going to Berlin on the grounds of money shortage) but I thought I'd propose this as an idea anyway. I haven't been to TG for years now...

I met up with Sarn, Tim, Prawn, Leila and Paul 5 at the Dev last night, which was great - the first time we've all been together since Leipzig in June. I met a couple of new folks as well, from somewhere in Leeds. It was made all the more great by the fact that I didn't have to get up for work this morning, so I stayed until closing and got trolleyed! I can't remember exactly what we talked about for most of the evening, but I do recall a lot of computer music-related talk and a heated Livejournal versus Myspace argument, with everybody else making a "loser" sign on their heads because I still think LJ is better. I also tried to play an old piece of plastic tubing like a didgeridoo and got laughed at because it left a ring of dirt around my mouth.

I've taken today off as holiday, because things at home are starting to get the better of me. Besides hangover-recovery, the day's been spent posting Christmas cards, exchanging emails with the publisher about the cover design for my childrens' book project and getting annoyed because the stupid wankers who are supposed to have registered my hgillustration domain have cocked up and now Nominet have sent me a notice that I no longer own the website name any more. Aaaarrrrgghh! That's going to take some time sorting out. Once I've done so, I'm off to Rick's house to do some band-related stuff.

* Not an entirely work-safe link, in case you don't know what TG is.

new years eve, illustration, camden
