.hack//Different Strokes for Different Folks

Anyone who thinks only Square-Enix stuff has massive amounts of melodrama, obviously hasn't played a lot of J-RPGs.

On a similar note (because I see this a lot and have been meaning to get this off my chest for a while): Enough already! Liking a "lesser known" company or product over a "popular" one doesn't make your dick or tits any bigger! I don't give a shit about how "bitter" you are that your favorite game isn't as well-known as others. I don't care how "tired" you are of the popular games. Neither of these give you any right to be an ass to others who happen to like the popular ones. Liking Tales over Final Fantasy (just an example, but I see this a lot) is not the equivalent of climbing Mount Everest. You just happen to have different tastes from a large group of people! No more, no less! You're not "special" because you dislike Square-Enix stuff, just as I'm not "special" because I have psychotic fucking hatred for Asch from Tales of the Abyss, while the rest of the fandom sacrifices goats for him.

The same goes in reverse. Liking the popular stuff over the lesser-known ones doesn't make you any better either. See also, "old school" versus "new school." A prick is a prick is a prick, regardless of interest. I doubt I need to repeat my above rant with different wording.

Gaming should not be a witch hunt! Whether you like one series or company over another should not be a part of the bragging rights. There is no reason to be a snot just because of a game or company's popularity.
