I have been such a lazy blob these past few days. Each day thus far has consisted of the following: sleeping past noon, lounging about the house, copious amounts of brainwashing from the television, and late-night chills with friends.
On Sunday night, Peter, Carmel, Christine & I saw Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban at the IMAX. I would definitely recommend the movie on the IMAX; it takes the film up a notch as far as visual and sound effects go! Afterward, we trekked over to Denny's for quality dining at 1am where Howard joined us as well.
Since it was Peter's birthday on the 14th, we surprised Peter by bringing in a cake at the end of the meal. As he was blowing out the faux fire on the candles (they weren't lit for "safety precautions" in the diner), he made a comment on how the entire scenario at hand felt very deja vu ... and for one reason or another, he somehow saw (or knew) that the cake would somehow end up in his face. So, since it was him that mentioned the idea in the first place, you can't really blame us for taking the concept and running with it, right?
After being chastised by our fuddy duddy waitress for bringing in outside food, we decided to pay and take the rest of our business outside. I'm sure it looked obvious at the time, but we conspired against Peter by trying to take a group photo, and at that moment, Howard merely slammed Peter's face into the birthday cake. It sounds juvenile, but it was actually pretty funny ...
My camera & I have issues, so some of the photos are blurry.
Before ...
... After.
Christine outlined the cake with icing to make it look like a victim in a horrible crime.
Murder is afoot! (so silly ..)
It's the Phantom of the Opera, haha.
Peter's response to everything after he had cleaned up?
Man, we're bonafide dorks.
We spent the remainder of the evening (or morning, since it was 4am or something of the sort ..) at Bellevue Park trying to digest our late night meal instead of heading home. There is something abnormally unwholesome, yet refreshing about playing on a playground in the middle of the night. Being at the playground at that hour with high school friends did feel reminiscent of my adolscence. I felt like I was 14 years old all over again. And surprisingly, I enjoyed it.
All of my belongings have kind of exploded all over the place - in my room, on the stairwell, in the living room, in the main hallway downstairs ... it's kind of sick. I will have to take on the tedious task of cleaning today.
