Well, as far as I can tell, there has never been any evidence for it, and more importantly, my physics here have actually disallowed it on occasion. During an experiment I performed with a friend of mine who is a magician, I found that, despite making a near-perfect replica of his summoning circles in the exact same manner he did, they were completely useless when I drew them. Considering that I could finish the circles when he made them, it seems some kind of proof that my world seems to actively disallow magic. Additionally, according to those who can see chi, a kind of paranormal "life force" apparently, I entirely lack it.
... Obviously more studies must be done before I can form a true theory, but it seems fascinating and potentially promising.
[Part of it is Robert not wanting to think that there are paranormal aspects to his multiverse. The idea, quite frankly, disturbs him a bit.]
I have mostly gotten over my... apprehension of the books here. I will admit, there is something f-fascinating about the process... database subsections, almost. But... made of paper. [There's a slight accent on the word "paper" that seems almost... disturbed.]
