[The audio to the journal turns on and,  albeit a New Feather, the dictation that comes across is clear, if the voice accompanying shaken up. She tries to keep it under wraps, but the slight, shrill sound can be heard during the breaks of her speech.]

Did it actually just turn on--? Odd. [A brief pause to gather her wits before speaking.]

I can only ( Read more... )

Don't worry, we read you loud and clear.

[Ven grins. He always looks forward to New Feather season because it means a slew of new faces showing up in Luceti.]

I can tell you a thing or two, but first, have you read the guide? It's really useful, even if it's kinda long...

It would seem like it-- Good to know.

[Hermione found it odd to hear an unfamiliar voice after the first two, but at the very least Ven sounded good-natured. The Guide comment piques her interest.]

I hadn't, actually. Can it be found within these journals? Length is no bother, really.

Yep! It's right here!

It just updated today, so I oughta look over it again, too. There's probably a bunch of new stuff now.

[After all, the past few months were very busy.]

Thank you, I'll be sure to read it as soon as I get a chance.

[Why it might need updating, slightly worrying.]

Something happened recently, I take it?

Yeah.

[He frowns and rubs the back of his neck.]

There was this really big experiment recently. Everyone's memories got messed up, and they thought they'd always lived here.

[Experiment. Harry hadn't told her what sort of things they did here, but she'd known the word had to mean bad news. Especially since the Malnosso seemed to strap wings on their backs for a welcoming present.]

[Thankfully she wasn't unfamiliar with screwing with memories, as much as it panged her.]

They can do something like that, then. Is that the worse the experiments have gotten then, do you know?

It depends on who you talk to. Some people really liked it-- at least parts of it.

But out of all the experiments I've been through, that one's gotta be the longest.

Well, if they're forced to think they've always lived here I could see why.

[Thinking, she doesn't know the time frame for this last experiment, but she knows, of course, experiments take different lengths depending on the reason of the experiment... Which leads to a half hopeful question.]

Does anyone have an idea as to what they're trying to experiment with us?

The guide says they're trying to find a way to send us back home, but I find that kinda hard to believe. They shouldn't have to mess with our memories in order to get us outta here.

No, I don't see why anyone would need to tamper with people's memories if that was their ultimate goal. Unless it has something to do with the wings they've seen fit to attach.

Well, everybody's got wings, even the Malnosso. There's gotta be more to it than that.

There must be. But it is curious they've decided to add these things on top of everything else.

It's probably part of their experiment, just like the barcodes. The only downside's that you gotta keep 'em safe because the wings are really sensitive.

Barcodes? [She grimaces though.] I realized that when I arrived earlier.

Yeah, everybody's got one on the back of their necks. I didn't notice mine at first.

[Frowning forever.]

I hadn't heard about that yet.
