I wonder about that. It's true the things that happen to us usually seem to have some sort of sense to them. Some sort of meaning to the victim. Don't you think it means they must have an awful lot of information about us?

They must have, I agree. The Malnosso seems to know exactly the sort of things that will upset or break us to get whatever results they want. Perhaps their purpose in it is to break us eventually, after all it is said the best soldiers are the ones they break in and rebuild. The whole idea of it, though.

So far our efforts were frustrating. Although we broke into the Malnosso's facilities, and saved their victims that time, we weren't able to stop the experiments.

Well, I'd expect they'd try to fortify their defenses to make it impossible. [Unless, a part of her mind rang, they let them do so. She shook her head on her side.] If it's happened once that doesn't make it impossible to do again. It only comes down to figuring out what worked and strengthening that part.
