Wake up between 11 am and noon. Every day.

Eat a plum fresh off the tree, standing over the kitchen sink trying not to make a mess as the juice tries to get everywhere the moment the skin (the best part of a plum, really) is pierced.

Eat breakfast. Peruse: the comics, first and foremost. And then, the front page, the calendar section. Food or travel (if it is wednesday or thursday, respectively) to pretend plus 15 or 20 years.

Go to the beach. Though the friends always seem to have "barbecues" to go to, it will happen one of these sunny days.

Work at lovely bookstore with lovely people in the evening. Cultivate the air of exclusiveness that is always present at such independent establishments: stop your conversations when the customer is directly in front of the register, and joke with them gladly. But as soon as they walk away, turn back to your partner in crime and continue talking of those certain sorts of things.

After work, go to a friend's house or a movie. Today's choices: Bukowski or Coffee and Cigarettes. Or else, return home and read short stories in bed until the time feels right to turn out the lights.

...

At least, that's yesterday, today and perhaps tomorrow.
