Still in my out-of-left-field anime place. Unable to resist the charm of Ban and Ginji, I simply HAD to make a vid that demonstrated my love of the simple-but-complex bond between the two.

I agree with you. One of the things that got me hooked in the anime was that scene when Himiko tells Ginji that Ban killed her brother and he doesn't even blink - there isn't a second of wavering in his trust. I have once read a review that said that "they've constructed their entire lives around the other's presence, to the point where "emotional dependency" doesn't cut it as a description" XD

Oh, that scene with Himiko was just... so brilliant. I remember the first time I watched it, getting excited, wondering how it was going to be handled and just being blown away by how Ginji managed to make naive, blind trust look completely reasonable when it came to Ban, in comparison to Himiko's miguided - yet still better informed - hatred of him.

Ha! That review said it perfectly! Do you happen to remember where you read it? I'd be interested to have a look...

It was so surprising, wasn't it? When I saw the scene for the first time I was expecting the cliché reaction - shock, doubts over their friendship, blah, blah, blah... and bam! Ginji blew us away! XD

Same here! I thought it was very cool that the episode didn't turn down the road I thought it would at that point.

Ooh, thank you. That review rocked! You know, I think EVERY review of EVERYTHING could benefit from being split into two: the general review and the slash portion. heh.

I agree with you *nods* Every anime has its yaoi/shonen ai/whatever they call it side, hehehe... Although Ban/Ginji is the extreme blatantness for a shonen manga/anime - and that's precisely why I love them so ;D
