Sorry, the Lord is speaking and the heavens are open right now
I was driving along in my car today and the Lord brought to my mind that there are Christians out there who claim that, "if the church in America experienced persecution she would grow. One day we will experience persecution and then everything will be great." However this is far from the truth. Why would a church that is in ruins and no danger to the devil experience persecution?
If the church is blessed and left alone, she continues to think nothing is wrong. Neither prayer nor pressing into God will be seen as necessary. Why bother trying to destroy the church that isn't dangerous, when he can destroy the whole nation? He is working to bring this nation deeper into sin and judgment while the church sleeps, unaware of it's coming demise. In the same way the prophets suffered along with Israel the Church will suffer along with the nation it is in.
Leonard Ravenhill said, "I used to preach that the church will suffer for the sins of America. Now I've turned that round and say 'America will suffer for the sins of the church." The blame for the state of America lays solely at the feet of the church because we're the only ones who a) can do anything about it and b) know better. People want to blame the homosexuals and abortionists, the liberals and conservatives for the state of America but judgment comes first to the house of God. We want people to come to us for salvation, but the call is not "wait here until people come to you" but it is "go into all the world."
The people of God who will take responsibility for this nation will be given authority to turn it round. A burden that looks at this nation and cries out to the Lord to deliver us. People want to trust in Congress, Judges and political movements to bring the kingdom, but that trust will fail. Only the church that turns its nation over to God will see a change.
We need a new perspective, because both of the two previous Great Awakenings happened at such a time as this. There is hope, there is light and if we seek Him we shall find Him along with His heart for this nation and the authority to turn it around. May God bring repentance and a new sense of our sonship and a desire to be servant of all, most especially those who are in darkness. God bless America, revive Your church.
