Computers, Mortgages and Plane Tickets
In the spirit of advice I may have given in the past regarding never taking on a Freelancing gig with a deadline a week before your wedding (although I should note that said book, the Mage Chronicler's Guide, was the most fun I've had on a project), I have the following tidbit for you;
Never. NEVER go through buying your first house in a month that you're flying across the Atlantic.
As if the stress of preparing for GenCon (I have business cards!) in the same week that I'm buying the necessary Insurances to go with my Mortgage wasn't enough, my PC decided that it had seen too much of this world and committed suicide over the weekend. I write this from the now-shared Laptop - the old machine (I suspect power supply failure) has been having it's data sucked out onto the external hard drive, but I've so far failed to fix it, and we can't afford another PC right now. Things like cookers and a bed take priority.
