It's about time for another Rambling on my reading, so enjoy! :)
So.....since my last entry on reading, I've done a bit of reading myself. I finished up North and South, by Elizabeth Gaskell, last night. I read it in about three or four days. It was really good, I enjoyed it alot. :) My favourate quote from it is this:
"On some such night as this she remembered promising to
herself to live as brave and noble a life as any heroine she ever
read or heard of in romance, a life sans peur et sans reproche;
it had seemed to her then that she had only to will, and such a
life would be accomplished. And now she had learnt that not only
to will, but also to pray, was a necessary condition in the truly
heroic."
I'm not entirely sure why I like this quote, but I think it's because it is important to pray, and not just will things into being, or act without thinking.
I'm reading Cranford right now, it's still quite good, although it seems, somehow, different then the miniseries I saw on TV. I wonder why. Not that that is a bad thing, mind you, I am enjoying both, but....
I'm also, at this time, reading "Redwall", the Redwall called Redwall. That's pretty good- I'm enjoying it alot, although my favourate Redwall stories are the ones with Martin the Warrior in it. I like him quite a bit.
I finished another couple Nancy Drew since my last post on this subject, but I still have a few more to go. Most of my time has been taken up with "North and South". :D
This is the list of books I have for reading this summer:
Any Jane Austen
Cranford
Narnia
Nancy Drew
The Inheritance (If I can find it, mind you)
Wow. Short list. Anyways.
See ya later!
