It's amazing the adventures that can happen in this fascinating life. The "Unexpected Party" would happen on the 27th when a recruiter asked if I wanted to be in a movie. That night I would check in with one of my colleagues who said the organization checked out, well, the next morning it would begin.
At about 10am I met with other foreigners who had been recruited too, two of them weren't able to go (other plans), but I talked to them for a while before meeting up with the ones who did go a few from France, Switzerland, Australia and Italy. I got along the best with Fabian and Mary who were from France. I talked about China, psychology and random topics with them.
The filming would not take place in Beijing, we ended up driving for nearly 2 hours to a nice, tacky hotel in the countryside. It was there I did most of the talking with the other folks before it was our time to film.
When it was my turn I ended up speaking my role so passionately everyone applauded (I was playing a 1984 Olympic announcer). It was a fun experience.
It was the last day of filming so we all were treated to a large feast where we met the Producer and others involved with the film.
We didn't get back until late for all those reasons. It was an amazing experience and it was fun to act again. What an adventure it was.
