Grand tour of the USA
So my darling f-list. I am planning a vacation. A month long road tour of the USA with my 2 youngest (ages 8 & 12). This opportunity is due to the fact that my minon of the federal government job ends in July and the wonderful school district job that awaits doesn't start until September. As we all know, there is a month between July and September....August. So, I'm going on a road trip.
Basic itinerary is as follows:
Tri-cities (see the Grandparents, figure out if we forgot to pack something!)
Yellowstone
Mt. Rushmore
Chicago (more relatives - chance to get to sleep in a bed instead of a tent)
Niagara Falls
Buffalo (more extremely distant relatives)
Pittsburgh (show the kiddies my old elementary school, etc.)
Washington D.C. (Kate is flying out to play with us in D.C. - YEAH!!!)
Williamsburg, VA (Haven't been since I was wee but remember it was cool)
New Orleans?
Grand Canyon
Sacramento (more relatives)
Back home to Seattle
Anyway, If you have any suggestions or wish a visit along the route, speak up. We are trying not to drive for more than 6 hours in any day. Actually I should say "I" am not driving (hopefully) for more than 6 hours since I am the only driver.
