Just read an article on NBC5.com that makes me happy--they approved the Wal-Mart on the West side!
(link) There has been so much controversy over this, and I don't want to get any more political than to say that I love Wal-Mart. I love that they have lots of stuff and that it's all cheap. I love that it's one-stop shopping. I love that, when Corey and I were driving through rural Colorado this spring and in need of kleenex, razors, and underwear (don't ask), we knew we would find a Wal-Mart, and we knew that it would have what we needed. I love how you can buy an engagement ring there if you need to. I love how every single cashier I've ever come across at a Wal-Mart has been pleasant and friendly. And today, I love that there will be jobs created on the West side of Chicago, and a place where people who live there can get merchandise cheaply without having to get to the suburbs.
