Just ‘cause you can eat, doesn’t mean you can cook it…

Bart was trying very unsuccessfully to cook something. Or at least that was what everybody thought. He was after all standing in the kitchen in front of the stove, with an apron on and a determined face. Yet everything turned out very un-eatable.

Hours and tries after tries Chloe sat on the kitchen counter and smiled encouragingly at him. “How about you start with something really easy? Wanna make me some eggs and bacon?”

His sad face fell quickly and turned into a full blown grin as he got some eggs out and looked for a frying pan that wasn’t used or looked a little less messy. Cleaning up wasn’t one of his strong points. “Sure thing Chloelicous.”

So with new élan and more determination than before he started on his next target. The eggs and the bacon. He’d show Oliver and the others that he could cook as well as he could eat.

Bart was burning the bacon as well as the eggs, and smoke was coming from every direction. But that didn’t seem to discourage him much, and he continued to hum some melody while swinging the frying pan from one side to the other. Trying to look like the chef-cooks on TV.

Oliver, A.C. and Victor who had also been watching Bart with his sad culinary attempts started coughing, before Chloe decided to open a window to let the smoke out.

“That guy is really not good at cooking. Better he sticks to eating the product, instead of trying to make it.” Victor said while waving his hand in front of his face, willing the smoke to disappear before him.

“Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm” said Chloe to Bart’s defence.

Oliver who was standing near the door, said almost automatic “Winston Churchill” to which Chloe replied with a ‘mega-watt’ smile and a nod.

A.C. pinched his nose and said, “Well, I guess that makes Speedy over there VERY successful!” He gestured toward Bart, who was still humming merrily on and rearranging the overcooked eggs and black-burned bacon on a white plate. Oil was dripping from the frying pan onto the plate

“Sidekick, you should probably not…” Oliver started when he saw Bart’s attempt at making something ‘really easy’, but Chloe cut him of with “The ability to heal, remember?!” and smiled while taking both the plate and a fork Bart handed to her.
