Books, food for the brain... slows dementia down! (Scientifically proven)
Just finished reading a book called 'Gut gegen Nordwind'
If I have german speaking friends following the LJ blog, then I really recommend this book...
it is a little slow in the beginning, but really interesting...!
Now started a book called high five... it's from a series, but I couldn't find any other books from the series, so I decided to start with this one. If I like it I might buy the other books...
And yes, I like it up until the point that I have read so far. It's funny. And the main character is a female bounty hunter (Stephanie Plum).
Here, read for your self. A little quote (In context: she is talking about her missing uncle):
"... I nodded in understanding. This didn't surprise me at all. Some men played golf. Some men did crossword puzzles. Uncle Fred's hobby was being cheap."
Now she is talking to her grandmother and mother about her uncle:
...
"You mean Fred has affairs? He's in his seventies!"
"Midlife crisis," Gandma said.
"Seventy isn't midlife," I said. "Fourty is midlife."
Grandma slid her uppers around some. "Guess it depends how long you intend to live."
I am now going to read on some more before going to sleep...
