OC or AU: AU
Character Name: Miku Hatsune
Series: Vocaloid
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Requested Sponsor: Sapphire
Appearance: n/a
History: Wiki-link.
World History: Miku comes from the not too distant future, where talent is no longer born, but manufactured. It’s not that people aren’t talented anymore, but it seems that nowadays people just don’t have the time to cultivate them. When it comes to “starving artist” or “boring but well fed accountant”, more and more chose the latter. While Miku was not the first music sensation to be manufactured in a lab, she was the first widely recognized and most popular pop idol android. Miku’s unit was designed to be self sustaining and self regulating, with a learning mechanism in place so that her songs would be able to carry more emotion in them. She can perfectly emulate emotions in her singing as well as in her life, but fans debate whether she actually feels them or not.

Abilities & Physical Abnormalities: Most notable of Miku’s talents is her ability to sing. She was created for the purpose of being a pop sensation that could appeal to a wide variety of listeners. While she is marketed as a pop artist, she is able to sing many genres. Her voice adjusts itself accordingly to better fit the particular genre.

Miku is an android, and can take more damage than the average meat bag. Her body was designed to be self sustaining, so most minor damage to her system will repair itself. This body also makes her above average in strength, but she rarely makes use of it. Her body does not age, so things like her hair and skin don’t discolor, and her hair and nails don’t grow. Miku shuts down and recharges nightly, but has the ability to go three days without a recharge. She can drain small amounts of electrical energy for a quick fix. Her recharge port is located at the nape of her neck, and a pretty average looking power cord extends from it. There is an assortment of ports and cords hidden throughout her body that serve various functions.

Personality: As an android, Miku has been programmed with a certain personality type. She was designed to be friendly and personable, full of energy and always wearing a smile on her face. Miku was intended to replicate emotions, but has internalized them and begun to asses and express them. Her personality as it is now still holds true to her original programming. She is the kind of person that is rarely sad, and always trying to cheer others up. Miku considers the emotions that her program runs to be the same sort that regular humans experience.

Most of what she has learned about emotions has been through the songs she was given. Because of this she expresses emotions very openly and very strongly. The emotions that are easiest for her to understand are the simplest ones: joy, sadness, surprise, anger and fear. Unless the song she’s singing requires her to draw from less pleasant emotions, she focuses on positive emotions. She knows that her own display of positive emotions will bring good feelings to others. Still, it’s possible for her to get riled up and succumb to negative emotions, which she expresses in very basic forms, similar to how a young child would react.

A key driving part of her personality is love. Love is what Miku sings about most often, but is also what her programming is least able to grasp. To learn about love is a constant driving force. She wants to witness it and experience it for herself. She tells her fans quite often that she loves them, but isn’t sure what it really feels like. She knows that love involves caring for someone, and she knows what a kiss is, but beyond that love is unfamiliar territory.

Miku tends to treat everyone the same, in that she’ll regard them as a good friend upon meeting them. Miku will trust others easily, and assumes that others will always have good intentions. She is naive to the more grievous realities of the world, and it shows when she expresses her world views. Her naivety ends at the realization that the songs she sing are not her own. This is where her reliance on others stems from. She is used to not only being taken care of by the people that created her, but of having to rely on others to give her songs to sing.

What are your plans for the character in-game? Miku as I plan to play her is very interested in the sorts of things that real humans do, from dreaming and eating to going to the bathroom. So surrounded by real humans that aren’t just a mob of fans or her creators, she may pseudo-stalk people trying to observe how they go about their lives. She especially wants to learn about love so watch out, lovebirds. I would also like to have her naivety whittled away as she learns what the world and people can be like outside of her happy fun music bubble.

Being a SeeD cadet will definitely interest her, and she’ll want to go as far as she can in that pursuit.

Anything else? Some required watching for Miku (for anyone interested) and where I drew most of her personality from: Packaged Voc@loid in Love ARiA -DEAD END-

(As this questionnaire is entirely IC, your character is free to lie.)
What do you prefer to be known as?
Just Miku is fine! Some people call me Super Pop Idol Miku, but that’s too long for every day talking.
How old are you?
I’m 16, but I’ll tell you a secret. Really, I’m 3 years old, because I was made only three years ago. You’d never guess though, right?

Do you have any history in combat?
Not even one page.
If so, have you ever killed?
Never, never!

i) How do you feel when you get involved in some project that calls for immediate and rapid activity?
I put everything I’ve got into it!

ii) Do you organize and initiate leisure activities?
Actually, they’re organized for me most of the time. I think I’d forget about them otherwise. Does watching the sky at night count as leisure?
iii) What role do you take when working in a group?
It seems like I’m the leader whether I want to be or not. People look up to me, even when I make mistakes.

iv) How talkative are you around other people?
I like to talk, but I think I like to listen even more. Especially when people tell me stories about themselves.

v) What three things would you want to have with you on a desert island? State your reasoning.
Ah, only three? Well… I would need something so I could recharge. Then how about a big stadium and lots of people I can sing to! That’s three things!

vi) Is it important to be liked by a wide range of people?
Definitely! If I can, I want to be liked by everyone, because I love them all too.
vii) When the odds are against you, is it worth taking a chance?
It’s always worth taking a chance.
viii) Do you consider yourself to be an impulsive person?
Impulsive? No…I don’t think so! I can think about things really quickly, but that’s different than being impulsive.
ix) Would you agree that planning things ahead takes the fun out of life?
I don’t think so! Plans can be fun, but so can making things up as you go. Life is fun no matter what you do.
x) Do you like surprises?
Yes! Even bad surprises can be exciting.
xi) Do you sometimes wonder if there is something wrong with you?
No, no. There’s not anything wrong with me. But I wonder about the ways that I’m different from humans.
xii) Do you consider yourself to be smarter than your superiors, and disagree with their decisions?
The people who made me are really, really smart! Maybe the smartest people in the whole world. I think they look out for me and try to make decisions in my best interest.

xiii) Lastly, how do you feel about cabbages?
They’re a very nice color, but I’ve never tried them.
