K--Kyouneko, come back!

[ A small, rather pudgy white cat suddenly dashes around the corner, head held high with a belled collar at its neck. Upon seeing the young woman, it approaches her then prances at her feet, pawing at the hem of her kimono. Around the corner in pursuit of the cat comes a little girl who scoops him up in her arms and gives the woman an apologetic bow. ]

Um... Sorry about that.

[waraeyayomae]

[She lets the cat dance around her, and she smiles at its brilliant coat. Someone must care for it very much. She looks at the girl, extending her hand--there is no need to bow, least of all to her.] It is alright. [She doesn't mind cats. At all. So she'll still be staring at that cat now.]

Um...

[ Toeto sort of shifts the cat around in her arms, trying to avoid leaving his legs dangling. In the end, she supports his back end with her hand while resting his paws on her shoulder and extends her own hand, to shake. ]

Um... are you new here?

[Another western greeting that follows a bow. She smiles at this peculiar blend, liking it more than she would admit. She takes the hand in her own, shaking it once with the barest amount of pressure.] Indeed, I am...

Um.. I'm Toeto.

[waraeyayomae]

[She nods. Ah--she cannot help herself. She extends a hand towards the cat.] May I?

Oh-- d--do you want to hold him?

[waraeyayomae]

[A simple nod.]

[ Again, trying to keep the cat's legs from dangling in mid-air, Toeto hands Kyouneko over. The cat doesn't seem at all bothered by the change in who's holding him, and lets out a happy burble, and purrs contentedly. ]

[She cradles the cat, stoking with a delicate finger from under his chin to the back of his ears.] Nyan Nyan mews the cat ♫... [Her smile widens a bit.]

[ Her petting draws more and more purring from the cat, who settles in her arms and closes its eyes happily. Toeto gives her a smile. ]

Uh-- h--he likes you!

[waraeyayomae]

Maa, I am glad that I am liked...[Continues petting.] You must treat him well.

[ Toeto smiles, looking quite proud of herself. ] I--I make sure that I give him a bath and groom him at least once a week.

[Stroking the cat's back one last time, she hands him back to Toeto. She can tell--] You make him happy.
