[Certainly this is a pretty hot afternoon! Your throat is parched, your brow covered in sweat... fortunately a young girl is suddenly standing behind you, a pitcher of water and a cup in hand]

Would you like a drink?

[it's just water, surely the price for this is very cheap!]

Hmm? [how did I not hear you earlier?]

[it's because she wasn't there a moment ago]

I'm offering water, Miss. It's a very good deal.

...

Well what is the deal?

Allowing me to assist you with your troubles.

[chuckles]

Thank you, but I'm afraid I have none.

Everyone has troubles. They just choose to accept their suffering.

But some troubles cannot be solved, so whilst I appreciate your kindness, I'll have to decline.

[another foolish soul]

So be it. I will find you should you change your mind.

[the love of my life is in hiding in another dimension and I have no eyeballs what exactly are you going to do?]

A charity, is it?

[make you forget those problems, obviously]

Something like that. I was assisted during the time of my suffering, now I wish to return to the favor.

...In exchange for giving other people water?

I thought people would be more open to hearing me out of I offered them a tangible thing. Many here are quite doubting, unfortunately.

Have you tried simply explaining? What about any other people you've helped?

crushbutterfly August 30 2011, 19:10:43 UTC
Sadly, I have only been able to help one person since my arrival.

[and he later went on to murder his little sister. whoops!]

Even when I explain, I get turned down. It is almost like they enjoy their burdens.

...they may feel as if they're their own responsibility. People are like that.

No one will praise you for agreeing to suffer. You can choose to be free.
