So, I went to Vegas. It was brilliant and mad and flashing neon capitalism, just like I wanted it to be, and I left well and truly ready to never ever go back.
Then there was the wedding. (Not me, an old friend.)
Then there was the 50th Anniversary.
Then there were the orientations. (Teaching, the yearly Grad School one, etc. I am well and truly oriented.)
And now I'm researching my thesis, drafting a proposal for this year's International Medieval Institute (the big Kalamazoo conference), and trying to write a syllabus, and running errands for my T.A.-ship in film studies. AND helping my friend draft a constitution for a new group on her campus.
And school doesn't start until Monday...
In short, you who haven't heard from me for a while, I'm sorry. I'll be back in a bit.
While I'm away, here's a thing to keep in mind. I'm going to try running a small play-by-post set in the Scion storytelling setting this semester. No rules, no dice, just storytelling about people who find out that they're the children of gods. If you're reading this, you're totally invited. Details to follow, but feel free to ask questions in the comments.
