There are things inside all of us that are bigger than the lot of us put together. When someone looks up at the sky and says, "wow, we're nothing in the universe," you slap 'em and tell them your life story. tell them your dreams, your desires, everything that you want(ed) to be. not just actions. We all age, we all grow, we all make money, and buy a house, and a car, and have a baby, and pursue the woman or man of our dreams. But the lens is different. Photographers and film directors?? they ain't nothin special. they just show the rest of the world how they see the world. through that lens that all of us have. so next time someone tells you that that flower is blue, you just respect their opinion and see it for yourself.....see what blue really is in your eyes. see what beauty really is in your eyes. see what scares you, what you can and cannot tolerate. See your failures. See simplicity and complexity in both a rock and a skyscraper....and in people...even if it's some asshole. Because on some level he's not the asshole and you are. and Love. don't let the world of cliches steal that word from you. it's still real and still amazing, and deserves a universe of it's own. Stuff all that you can see in this slice called a life, so that at the beginning of wherever you're going, you'll be able to bore your audience with a 394 hour movie (tightly edited) that shows a life through your lens.
Oh, and one more thing. If you ever feel the need to judge someone...to think that housewife is a dumbass, that gay woman doesn't deserve to live, that kid who slits her wrists is a basketcase, or the black guy in LA is gonna rob you.....just remember that they all have a movie like you. they all have a lens...a life. they aren't "nothing" compared to the sky. they are bigger than the sky. they have their own universe for love. they have failures. they get that feeling that you get...the knot in the stomach or the floating on air. They are you...just not you.
And when someone slaps you in the face and tells you to wake up and join the real world, you tell them that this is the real world...it's just brighter to you.
