We found a lost dog today...or, he found us more like. When we're home we leave the garage door open a crack to let the hot air escape the house. So Mom opened the door inside the garage and found a black and white Shitzu at her feet.
He was very dirty and had no identification, but was very friendly and well trained, if not extremely picky over the treats we tried to feed him (spoiled brat). We have a lab/retriever in the house and did not want to risk fleas, so we put him on an old leash and took him to the nearby vet to scan him for a chip.
Turns out his name is Pepe, and he lives in our neighborhood. We got in touch with the owner and waited for him out in the front yard with his wayward companion. Much to our surprise, Pepe was the dog who lived in the peninsular house in our culdesac, just diagonally across from our house. Pepe is also the dog who used to bark at us from behind his fence whenever he saw us outside.
I guess he decided to come over and say hello. :) "Hey! Hi! I bark at you a lot. You seem nice, so I'll hang out here and chill?"
This is the fifth time a lost dog has "found" us in all the years that we've lived here. For some reason all of the lost neighborhood dogs come to our place to hang out. And nearly all the owners who come to pick up their dogs have asked us if we wanted their dog. -_-' (some jokingly and some seriously) I mean, we LOVE dogs, always been a dog family, but really?
Damnit, people! We're a lower-middle class family, not a dog rescue!
