I had just stumbled upon an excellent metaphor for our life. To help alleviate those concerned with their state of being. Basically:
A small wave spent most of his time concerned with his size. Eventually, a large wave came and stepped in. The large wave asked what is wrong. The small wave told him the problem.
"You are not a wave" the large wave said.
How can I not be a wave? I have a crest, and a wake?
The thing you call a wave is a temporary form you assume. You are water - as I am. When you realize your fundamental nature you will be free of your misery.
Sure enough the surf moved on and the small wave joined with other waves to become a large wave.
So much can be learned from water.
