Things have been touch and go lately...

Touch and Go Music Festival. It began like any weekend. Y’know my friend from college was dropping in to visit and sleep on my couch. I hadn’t seen him in over 3 years or so and time seemed to be good to him. We grabbed some dinner on Friday and then went to watch !!! as the opener for what was to be a great line-up. We ran into a few of his ( Read more... )

Yeah, we probably ran into each other and spilled beer on our white kicks. It's what happens at these mash-ups.

Yeah, a friend wanted to go. It was interesting for a few minutes, but I thought it hilarious that he hunched over his laptop, shirtless, like he was actually doing some work. He's assembled all those mixes before-hand in Reason and Pro-Tools.

It's an entire scene. I like the music combinations but putting up with the scene really gets to me. I'd prefer him just plopping his ipod down and then walking off stage. The dancing was good. We only stayed one hot minute and then we were off...it was a long weekend.

I gave it 2 stars for a few lines here and there, but overall, what a BIG disappointment. If anything, this made me never want to meet Sarah Silverman, hell it turned my friend from having her be his celebrity crush to relief that he doesn't know her at all. Although favorite line, "What the fucking cock is that?"

And you?

about the same. i had high hopes for it, but for the most part, i sat in front of the tv, seesawing from staring at the screen blank-faced to being vaguely embarrassed for her. i laughed a little here and there, but to be honest, i found the behind the scenes portion much funnier.

sometimes I think people just give up and then try to have a family to fill that void, maybe.
sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. I thought that maybe because you came from a creative background and Im in a helping profession our crisis would be different but now that I think about it I don't think so. We are both getting sucked into the everyday monotony of paper work and bullshit- not doing or not doing as much as we wanted. I don't know how your going to change it up and the road that is in front of me is to start questing for power...pppp...power.

anyway rambly rambly. I hope things are going well and sorry the quiz didn't work out. Some people are complicated and cannot be defined by clicking on color boxes :D

Sometimes having a creative background is a reason to pretend that you just work to pay for your art, the problem is the very fineline. Next thing you know, you're making a lot of cash and you're living in an expensive loft. You turn around and see someone you knew once and they say, "What have you been up to?" You have to tell them, "I corporate flunky, I trade creativity for green paper!"

Don't get sucked in! You are smart enough and young enough to be able to see 20/20. Don't spend too long making up excuses to "just paying the bills". For fact, I know how quickly that turns into, "But I love going out to nice restaurants, and I love buying new gadgets!" Keep it simple. Keep it straight forward and Keep it REAL.

I am finally making short experimental films again. This is how rebuild myself.

I've taken that color quiz before, and each time I become more needy or independent. It's not fair, I love the color black but I am hella optimistic.
