Game On Rounds #4 and #5 Winners

Feb 15, 2010 23:53

Congratulations to everyone who entered stories in the last two challenges. The poll closed last week and now we've got the winners' banners, courtesy of the always amazing hiddeneloise, behind the cut. Thanks to all of the authors for writing fic and keeping the community active, and another thanks to everyone who voted.

celtic_flicka was the overall runner-up, taking 2nd place in every category: Best Use of a Challenge, Best Characterization and Best Fic. If you haven't read it yet, make sure to check out her story- I Hear the Bells.

Congratulations to first time participant princess72385 for winning Best Use of a Challenge for her A Christmas Carol-inspired fic, Three Blonde Ghosts.

The banner for Best Characterization goes to love_is_epic for an update on her WIP, Searching for Life. Keep the chapters coming, R! You might win even more awards with them. ;)

And last but certainly not least, the winner for Best Fic is onceuponapillow for her story, For Me, It's You, which took the category with almost 1/3 of the total votes. Congratulations!

I hope everyone who wrote something for one of these challenges keeps on participating in future rounds, and maybe their work will inspire others to give it a shot, too. Everybody should check out the main challenge for round #7, which is the Free-For-All. There's already a lot of great ideas there to claim, so maybe you'll be inspired, even if it's for just a drabble. I really hope any reluctant writers out there take a chance and decide to post. This community will be closing for good in August, which isn't as far away as it seems, so let's try to make the most of it every month. If you're still apprehensive, always remember that there are willing betas and vmfic_help there to work with you!

Or if you are sure you don't want to write, but you've got some plot bunnies for a story, leave your ideas at the prompt thread linked above and maybe someone else will write it!

Thanks everyone, and keep writing!
