Summary: It will make for a great ‘drunk at Christmas’ story if Logan can remember it. Written for vmfic_gameon's Round #4 Christmas challenge

I have to say that I don't like this at all, I try and be tolerant about other people's ships, but it seems to me that to pair Logan up with Maddison and Veronica up with Lamb in one story is a bit antagonistic, when you are aware most of the fandom is LoVe.
In order to match these couples up I feel that your characterisation suffers as you have to contort them into completely different people in order to make it believable that they are with each other.

It's funny, I remember there being a mention of how this was comm was almost LoVe-centric. It seems more and more to me that even though it supposedly isn't the members seem to wish it were. Me? Until it's officially stated that Game On is LoVe-centric I'm going to continue posting fics that feature the characters and pairings I prefer here even if it means I never win a challenge since I have never been (nor likely will ever be) a LoVe fan.

As for your opinion on my fic(s) and your own personal shipping preference(s): To each their own.

You're right that it's open to all pairings, for most challenges, and it'll stay that way.

But:

I'm going to continue posting fics that feature the characters and pairings I prefer here even if it means I never win a challenge since I have never been (nor likely will ever be) a LoVe fan.

I'd rather you not assume that voting is based purely on ships, because I think isn't giving credit to the fans who vote based on the quality of the story. I'm sure there are plenty of fans who won't read fics based on certain pairings, and that might be an issue for you, but I'd also not cop out to the idea that a fic has to be LoVe in order to win any awards.

It's not so much that that's what I assume as that's how it's felt thus far. Now maybe that's just because of the overwhelming preference of LoVe or just because more people here, specifically, seem to be interested in LoVe than any other ship. And that's fine - to each their own - but for whatever reason this seems to be the comm where I've heard the most about what I "should" do as opposed to what I have done.

I actually liked this (Yes I know I sound surprised). I think your Dick was spot on.

“Hey, while the kids are away the parents get to play,” he grinned

That's my favourite line if you're curious, it was just so Dick, it wasn't funny. And I love how you paired Dick with Mac, it made my fan girl heart squeal.

And maybe after that Santa can slide down your chimney,” he smirked as he went to kiss her - and missed.

And this was just as funny. I love Drunk Logan. I also liked the fact that you could use that line here because it would be out of place if Logan was with any other character.

“I think Lamb broke up with me. He doesn’t call, doesn’t write… Now he has his deputies taking me home,” he sighed dramatically as he plopped down on the sofa.LMAO. That was just so Logan and no more needs to be said through my laughter about it

Yeah, I pair Mac with Dick as sort of a "present" for one of my favorite fic authors whenever I write either of them. Not sure she ever sees it, but it's there just in case. She loves them too so I figure it's the least I can do to sort of thank her for the inspiration her fics have given me in the past.

Especially given that you're a LoVe person (believe it or not I don't have a problem with most LoVe people, just situations like this one) - I think you just made my day. Thank you. I'm very glad you liked it. :)

Normally I keep my nose securely on my face but I had to stick it in here just once. josiefier, I think you know that while I don't see eye to eye with you on your ships, I certainly support your right (and talent) to write fics. I simply don't read them because I cannot ship anyone except LoVe. I'm sure this is no surprise to you : ) I think that any VM fic gives life to the comm and I would never get tired of seeing them, regardless if they are LoVe or not. Of course that doesn't keep me from wishing there were more LoVe fic than anything else or that I could win you (and others) over to our side, LOL : ) *wink*

This is why I love you. Sure we have different OTP's but we don't begrudge each other for our work or preferences. And I agree - I'm always happy to see new VM fic too no matter who or what it's for, especially since most other shows don't even still have such a strong or vast fanbase so long after cancellation.
