Flashback: 1996

My hometown held a May Day festival every year. The streets were lined with vendors selling whatever they had to sell, games, crafts, and even a parade. My girl scout troop dressed up in period costumes--each girl taking a decade--and danced around a May Pole in front of the Regions Bank on Main Street.

To keep some semblance of rhythm, we sang "Lean On Me" while we danced and braided the ribbons around the pole.
