Ah--a figure skating MotW from you two!! I should have guessed that, but it's still very amusing.
=nods= This is my second foray into skating fanfiction, but this one is a bit less cracked out. Still fun though. :)
Grace disappearing: I was very confused at first and then it sort of fell into place. It stood out, but I liked that arc for Keith to have to get back to Fresno to deal with those missing girls and something else.
Why were you confused? Did you just sense that something was off and it wasn't related to the arc with the missing girls? Still, one of the things that I liked about writing this chapter was adding a sense of human error to their cases. I mean, they incorrectly presumed that Grace's case was related to the other disappearances, so Keith made some decisions based on that information. Still, if it's helping them make anything even resembling progress on the case at this point, I think it's all for the best. :)
I love that Logan interrupted and that Wallace really let him do that.
For one, Alanna isn't as posessive or insistent as Jackie. But, also, Wallace knows that Logan is a guy and that if he knows Wallace is getting some action, he'll get to the point quickly and get this over with. Hee. :)
Totally random, but what nine year old is in middle school? Shouldn't she still be in elementary school?
Depends on where you draw the line. I've seen middle schools that are grades 4-8, grades 5-8, grades 5-9, grades 6-9 ... Lots of different stuff. So you can either go with the first one (and Grace just hasn't turned 10 yet) or decide to believe that the Mannings had her skip a grade or something. Plus, some kids *do* start school earlier than others. I had a pair of twins in my class in high school who were *exactly* a year younger than me (believe it or not!). So she might just be young for her age - her parents wanting to get her into school sooner, with her sisters. So, yeah, no real explanation. Except for that Grace looked *really* young in 207, and I wanted her to be in middle school like the other girls who have gone missing. (more commonalities between them, even though Grace'd disappearance wasn't really connected to theirs)
Casey and Susan Knight in one part--hee! I love how many minor characters this whole story has been able to bring in.
Original draft also had Corny, but he got scrapped in one of the rewrites. :(
I'm slightly disappointed that there wasn't anything that was done on the other case, but I think the break from the truly creepy.
There's too many cases going on at once for one chapter to be able to juggle them all, I think. Besides, this chapter was already longer than all the rest - are you trying to give me more work to do?! ;)
Anyhow, I've intentionally neglected to respond to some of your points, figuring I should let Sarah cover more of her stuff anyhow. :) Thanks so much for the feedback - I'm glad you enjoyed this! :)

Alanna isn't as posessive, that's very true. It's really nice to see that Logan and Wallace can be friends here, really.
Age explanation--good points! I'm just being the silly Californian and wondering what middle school starts the early here. Pardon me while I sink into the ocean soon....
Aww, no Corny. That is sad.
Oh, I know that if there had been more on that case, this would have been much longer, so I'm not too upset. It's nice to have a break from it, even if only for one week.
Your Sway just came on my iTunes..Hee!!! You must explain how this song was helping you write this chapter later.
Oh--I didn't spot the Jensen reference either. *hands head in shame*

But, as for the Evan explanation, there's this video, from Tornio. (the post-competition exhibition)
The copy that I have on my computer is much prettier - better resolution and stuff. But the uploaded version works too. :) Just ... excuse the Chinese talk or whatever - what matters is the music and the routine. =D

And I love the Logan-Wallace friendship. I mean, 219 (I think?) was an absolutely horrible episode, for me, since I never really cared all that much about the bus crash, but the two of them, working together and playing together was just so much fun! :)
And, hey, as a Californian, you know more about how things work around you. Sarah and I are an East-coaster and a Midwesterner. We're hardly the authority on California middle schools!
Corny was a lot of fun to write, but after we changed how the MOTW played out (we had a different guilty party, initially), he sadly became unnecessary. :( I like Corny. :( :(
And, yay for Sway! I hope that that movie explains my attachment to the song - at the very least, it should explain where I first heard it! In general, the song is just very conducive to writing, I think. :)
Jensen reference ... it's DA-related, if you want to go back and look again. I mean, the fic is SO LONG, so I totally understand if you don't have the time for it. I just thought I'd give you a hint ... :)

True enough--it's a curse when reading fic something, though. I catch the randomest things when reading that make no sense here, but that's ok.
I'm guessing that Corny delivered some bad pizza, right?
The movie does explain your love of the song, so I'm good now!
Ok--I could go back and read later, but now that you said it was DA related, did someone bit their lip while drinking? That's the only Jensen DA reference I know of.

And, no, Corny didn't deliver some bad pizza. Sarah and I are going to have to make sure to post the alternate MOTW version of the chapter. Or one of those versions, anyhow. Heh. Just so you can see the Corny'ness in action. :)
FYI, no, no one had any alcohol in this chapter, let alone bit their lip while drinking. The DA reference is more of a toned-down version of a character arc than anything else. Don't worry too much if you can't get it. I just knew that there's a fair amount of SPN crossover with VM, and I was curious to see how much DA crossover there was by association. :)

Oh, now I'm very interested to see what Corny did. *sits and twiddles thumbs*
Ok, it's going to be completely lost on me, then. I tried, though. That counts for something, right?

If nothing else, I'll make sure that we post up at least the one scene (with Corny! and Logan! and Wallace! and Veronica!) that I really didn't like to cut. I mean, it added nothing to the chapter, after we changed how the MOTW worked out, but STILL. It was just cute and fun and ... :(
And the Jensen reference isn't really THAT big of a deal. Minus the fact that it amused me immensely. =D

I'll wait for that, really. I'm good like that, reallly.
I figured it wasn't, and I can't catch it at all.

And, dude, I just saw a clip in which when asked about his opinion on a certain new male character (I'm being very vague as to avoid spoiling anyone who's reading this), JD said that he loves that character and thinks that they should like run away to Utah and let Veronica live in polygamy with the both of htem. Snerk. It's hilarious. I'll have to upload it at some point. :)

I think the funnier one is an interview Muhney did where he said that JD was Catholic, Rico shaves his head, and that Francis is Irish. I'm a total spoilewhore, so I've known about those for a few days, and giggled the entire time.

Okay, I'm totally randomly jumping in here, but crazily enough, the school right down the street from me is K-8, and I'm in SD area. So when I betad this, it didn't jump out as weird (even though I in the district where I teach, middle school is always 6-8). So... yeah, hi random! ;)
