big eyed mickey and dried squid
one of my goals in hong kong is to do really touristy things so of course i went to hong kong disneyland.since it was really really small (main street, usa and adventure land and tomorrowland. that's it.), i was a little hesitant in going and spending money. good thing joey (my cousin rosa's bf) had two free tickets + a ton of fast passes so it was way cheap for all of us to go. we went on a thursday before the big public holiday, so we didn't even use the fast passes because the longest we had to wait was 15 minutes!
also, since i was in hong kong, the snacks were street vendor-style foods: curry fish balls on a stick, dried squid, caramel popcorn, etc. so good.
to appease the mainlanders, a lot of the souvenirs where like...really creepy because each disney character had anime eyes, almost. really big. in cantonese, we call it "q-ban" (phoenitically speaking).

On the subway from Sunny Bay to Disneyland:
Note that the windows and handrails are mickey moused shape. the seats are all plush sofas and in each corner of the car are disney figurines. it's pretty intense.

so while we were waiting in line to take pictures with some of the disney characters, rosa joked that she wanted to take one of just her because it was a nice place to take a picture. the plan would be to push the disney dude away and one of us would snap a picture of her.
turns out, that we didn't have to do that. rosa accidentally spilled popcorn all over the place and so the crew PLUS Marie the cat (the disney character we were supposed to take a picture with) went to clean it up.

since i am a cheapskate, i had taken two sandwiches to disneyland so that i could avoid buying food there. turns out that the food at disneyland is pretty good and the prices are also really decent. also, my sandwiches were squashed in my bag.
although i still ate one because they were still good:
