Well, it's been over a year since my last post. That's probably a good thing. Reading some of my old posts the last few days was... interesting. Anyhow, I am probably going to start doing this again, if infrequently.

I am currently posting from my parents' house... I got up at like 6:30 this morning, hopped on my motorcycle, traffic was terrible... and went to a doctor's appointment at 9:30. They still can't tell me what's wrong with me. ha, just kidding. There's nothing wrong with me. Or is there? Whatever. Then, I had scheduled this doctor's appointment and an eye doctor appointment in the same day to kill two birds with one trip home, and then I realized I was probably due for a trip to the dentist. So instead of going to lay by the pool like I had planned on, I called my dentist and asked them to squeeze me into their schedule. They did. So I hit the doctor, the dentist, and the eye doctor all in one day. I'm awesome. Still no cavities, and evidently my right eye is tweaking out (oh god, the phrases I pick up from Molly). I was going to go straight from the eye doctor back to Evanston because Brian and I are going to the CSO tonight to see a jazz quartet... and here's where the fun starts.

The eye doctor decided to dilate my pupils and do that whole deal today because apparently it hasn't been done in a while. So I drove my motorcycle home with no contacts, one eye closed, and the other eye just BARELY open enough that I could see. If you think that's fun, just wait. Then my motorcycle runs out of gas. Now, they tell you it will sputter and then you just turn on the reserve tank and carry on. My motorcycle most definitely did not sputter. It just sort of stopped turning over. I was going 55, then suddenly I was going 45, then 35, etc. Meanwhile I'm trying to see and not die. I decided it would be unsafe to reach down and flip on the reserve tank just then, seeing as I couldn't see (get it?!) so I pulled over and did it. Then buzzed my way off to the nearest gas station, and decided that it probably would be unsafe to drive all the way back to Evanston in my current state of semi-blindness. So here I am, killing time on LJ and waiting for my eyes to go back to normal. Which they'd better, soon, since I gotta get back in time to get ready for this fancy shmancy night out on the town. :o) Also, the motorcycle filled up with $5.22 worth of gas... which might be a record high. I'm spoiled. ;oP

Later.
