okay, so maybe only mildly tipsy

so uh... I haven't made it to New Orleans quite yet. it was rainy/foggy in New York today, so flights out of LGA were delayed, and my connecting Atlanta->NO flight, which I missed by five minutes, tops, was the last of the day, and... yeah. the good news, at least, is that I'm not sleeping in the airport -- mathslut, being the absolute doll that she is, ( Read more... )

I'm so glad that you made it safe and sound-- the house was safe and sound too, thanks for watching out for it a little... and for delicious margaritas!

And now back to work, gah.

house so pretty! I want to steal it and bring it up here.

and I owe you guys a couple beers, to make up for the ones I stole to sit outside and read. (I got rose gelato, too, and it was yummy!)

Mmmmm, rose gelato sounds delightful. I don't think there's any room up there for the house though, or I would do it for real.

Did you have a great rest of the weekend? How's work going? I meant to ask while you were here, but you did get my last email with my resume, didn't you? It was back on... the 17th.

the weekend was pretty great, yeah! I can definitely see why a certain boy of yours loves New Orleans. I can't wait to go back (and hopefully on more sleep, with an assortment of lenses, and actual time to take pictures!).

work is a little crazy right now, actually! we've got a bajillion interns starting on top of the regular stuff. feh. and yup, I got your resume. :D my boss (actually, boss' boss, but I conflate the two of them) says we do need more people (the sysadmin position), so I'll be filling out that referral form now!

Eee, I don't know for sure that I've got the experience they might be looking for in a sysadmin, but I'm looking at the description now, and I do have most of the listed requirements, since they don't elaborate on a number of years of experience doing administrative tasks. I definitely take your word highly that you like being there and I am pretty quick to pick up computer tasks, so if you think that's a good option, it's surely worth a try!

If the young mister Ya'ir gets engaged in conversation at some point though, it's definitely definitely worth asking him what he thinks about the possibility of openings on that end in the next few months. My resume/qualifications/etc. seem to be a little better fit over there, but I don't know. If he went to MIT or something, maybe I am better off brushing up my sysadmin skillz!

I think mostly they look for smartieness -- plus everything is pretty well documented, I think. and fwiw, some of the sysadmins are programmingier than others. I'll put you down for both, though.

the developers tend to have degrees from pretty ritzy schools, but not all of them do, and they're not all, like, PhDs with a zillion awards under their belts. and I sorta expect that I'll be seeing him in the next few days, so I'll see what information I can mine. ;)

All good info; I owe you back now, whether this all works out or not!

Hope you had a good weekend, miss lady.
