A wonderful weekend!
A huge hug and tremendous thanks to my roomie, poisongirl, who is made of win and covered in awesome sauce!
So last Tuesday was my birthday and a pretty good one it was. The Friday before I hung out with good friends at Phobia, that Saturday was spent listening to the Psycho DeVilles (among others) at rockabilly night at Masquerade, Sunday was spent visiting with my family in Macon, Monday night was an awesome dinner by the aforementioned poisongirl shared with fuzzytoe42 and thehobbit and then Scareoke at the Star Bar and finally on my birthday I took the day off from work and spent it lazily around the house until it was time to meet up with a bunch of friends (arirobin, fuzzytoe42, grizzlydan, kaliwohi, poisongirl, sibylla, sugared_redhead, wayfindr, and others not on LJ) at Vortex for charred animal flesh numminess! So how could I ask for more? Well, to be fair I didn't. This weekend was supposed to be more low key with Saturday's plan (established a few weeks ago) being to spend the afternoon/evening with two lovely ladies and dear friends, sibylla and wayfindr, hereafter known as bait. So Saturday we spent the afternoon at the Art-B-Que followed by linner (lunch/dinner) at Twain's, then some shopping in L5 and unbeknownst to me a whole lot of killing time. At right about 9PM we headed back to my place to settle in to a lazy night of movies, conversation and alcohol, or so I thought...
It turns out that poisongirl had begun well over a month ago to plan a surprise birthday party for me and when I opened the door to my apartment I was greeted by a CBL of people (cubic butt load) yelling Happy Birthday (or something like that I admit I was a little too shocked to take notes). It was awe inspiring. Attending were:
aprillillian, arcstone, arirobin, artemis257, fahkingnut, fuzzytoe42, grizzlydan, kaliwohi, kiantewench, ladyeorann, photognome, poisongirl, sibylla, sugared_redhead, thegreyman, thehobbit, unrepentant, wayfindr, as well as Redneck Ray, Dog, DeWynne, Adrien and Janeine (my jaw hit the floor on that one), Brendan, Rob, Crystal and Bob and possibly others
It was epic! I had an amazing time and was shocked at the turnout. The last of the guests split around 2:30ish to head home and it was just me and the amazing poisongirl in the house (and fuzzytoe42 who was passed out on the bed). She proceeded to repeatedly threaten to punch me in the junk if she ever heard me even hint that I didn't feel loved again and make me repeatedly answer her question "Who is loved?" with my name. We settled down to watch Orgazmo on the couch and ended up falling asleep around 6-6:30 in the morning. Sunday was spent chilling, eating leftovers, watching House and dreading the damage my liver is going to take from the liquor and beer left in the house :)
So let me just say, inadequate though it is, Thank you and I love you to the wonderific, fantabulous poisongirl, her bait / accomplices, sibylla and wayfindr, and all of my friends who came out to give me one of the best birthdays I have ever had and made me feel loved/appreciated/cared for.
