214, Thursday night
After attending Town Hall, Karal and Altra had hurried back to the dorms, to find Evey and explain what was happening.
Obviously, he wasn't going anywhere after that. Eventually, he'd fallen into an uneasy sleep, only to awaken in the middle of the night. He wasn't sure if Evey was asleep, so he was very careful as he sat up, not wanting to disturb her if she was.
Altra was not asleep. Karal reached for him, to see through his eyes, and then he was looking out over the island. The Firecat was standing sentry by the window, he realised.
:Go to sleep, Karal,: Altra told him. :I'll keep watch.:
Closing their connection, Karal lay back down and curled around Evey, trusting in Altra to keep watch. He doubted he would sleep again, even with that, but he could pray.
