Karal crept through the door, looking back over his shoulder, beyond grateful to have reached the safety of his room.

"...Karal?" Aravis asked, staring from where she was reading on her bed. She quickly averted her eyes, though.

Karal froze, then bolted like a bunny into the bathroom, peering out around the door. "I'm sorry! There was slime and water and mess and I should have kept my clothes on!"

Aravis had her hands over her eyes entirely. "...no, it's all right. Your...liasons are your own business. Don't mind me. I saw nothing."

"What?! No, Aravis, it wasn't, I didn't," he was rapidly dissolving into spluttering incoherence. "I was slimed!"

"...that's a word I've not heard for it," Aravis murmured, making a mental note to ask Seely. "Really, Karal," she called, "it's all right. I'm not looking and I promise to be discreet."

He gaped when he realised what she thought. "No, actually slimed! Look, I'll show you." He opened the door just a little bit more. "I don't know."

And then there was slime, dripping down him. "Oh, that's just horrible."

Aravis was no longer covering her eyes. Mainly because she was using a hand to stifle the laughter, now. "Oh. How unfortunate."

"You see? I was just trying to keep from making a mess. If you say water," he bowed his head, waiting for it to stop, "yes, well, you get that."

Karal sighed again, then started to laugh. "No, it's fine. Glory, if I'm going to traipse half naked through the dorms, it's only to be expected."

"It's very Seely-like of you. I'd wondered where your shame had gotten to," Aravis admitted. "Do you know why that's," she gestured upwards, "happening, then? At all?"

"Fandom Weirdness, I guess," he said. "I saw Seely on my way back. He got wet and slimed both." Karal would just stay quiet about his possible involvement in that.

Aravis raised her brows. "I ought to check on him, I suppose. 'Slimed' is not a particularly charming word, by the by."
