update from Buffalo
So I'm off at a course, quite possibly my last since work keeps going to hell. I'll learn some stuff and enjoy the time alone. Hotel upgrade has given me the equivalent of a nice small apartment. We start at 7:45 tomorrow with breakfast and the dreaded social stuff. Then seminars and labwork and discussion.
Doctor Who this week annoyed the heck out of me. I really, really didn't like it. #1 liked it until the end which he felt was a cop-out. He's about ready to give up on Who...and I don't really blame him.
Finally watched the season opener of Haven. It was okay. I don't like Evil Not-Audrey. I hope Jennifer is okay. I finally realized what bothers me the most about Haven. I like my female characters. And aside from Audrey, who is a really good character, there aren't any other women. Or at least, they keep putting in good female characters but then they kill them off. Every single one of them. And now Audrey's gone and/or evil...sigh.
Caught up a bit with Rizzoli and Isles. Jane lost the baby as was foreshadowed. So I guess they decided to just give up on that storyline. To which I say 'Thank God'. Not even a throwaway line about Casey either. I guess we're supposed to have damn short memories. I still enjoy the banter; the two characters are just fun together. So it's a fluff show. I'm not fannish about it and won't mind if I miss it. But I'll record it and at least watch for Scooby references.
Still haven't watched the last four Perceptions.
Slowly going through last season's Once Upon a Time. It's great fun. They really work the idea of good and evil. No one is just one or the other. Everyone has reasons for their behavior. It twists and turns and reverses direction and yet always seems to move forward logically.
