Balticon highlights

Our story so far...

Elder son playing happily with younger son in the hotel pool. This is a rare occurrence since #1 has reached the advanced teenage years. #2 was thrilled.

Die Farbe
, 2010 German film adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft's The Color Out of Space. Best example of an unreliable narrator EVER. And scary.

Staying up to watch The Woman in Black, 2012 'horror' film with Daniel Radcliffe, with #1 son in the wee hours of the morning. Both of us jumping at every scare shot and freaking out all the way back to the room. Had to leave the light on for a while before sleep. :) Boogedy-boogedy.

Watched an indie film 'Found in Time'. I'm still not totally sure what happened in the film but some really interesting time-travel and time-slip concepts were explored. It had evil PsiCops! And more unreliable narration. I sense a theme.
Favorite quote--
Chris: "All I want is some control."
Ananasi: "Over-rated."

Passing through the lobby overheard Ada Palmer of Sassafras and a lovely baritone of unknown name singing 'The Holly and the Ivy' and 'Whole New World'. Stayed to watch an impromptu rehearsal of 'Hearthfire' by Sassafras ensemble.

Listened to a Q&A with Vinton Cerf of Google (co-designer of TCP/IP protocols, considered one of  the 'Fathers of the Internet'). :O
Not too evil, that one, at least out loud. Smart as a whip, too.

Tonight is the vaunted Balticon Short Film Festival. #1 and I generally go and vote on the films. We leave early-ish tomorrow. #1 has a date with Godzilla...or rather with a girl to see Godzilla.
