For
idella , this is the shortest piece cause my Cordelia voice is rusty to non-existent. Still a story I'd like to see!

7 & 10 have to teach a class together. What do they teach and how does it go?

Not for the Faint of Heart

Cordelia Vorkosigan and Myka Bering

Myka comes to Barrayar in search of an artifact. She goes undercover, opening an academy teaching self-defense skills to high-ranking Vor women. Cordelia goes to check it out with Drou, and after Myka takes down Drou in a demonstration, Cordelia signs them both the Barrayarans up for lessons. Cordelia finds out Myka's mission, and decides to help. They take the academy on the road since the artifact is rumored to be out in the provinces. Cordelia and Myka co-teach in private homes and Drou goes undercover to find out who is hiding the artifact. Myka snags, bags, and tags the thing. She leaves for home, leaving Cordelia trying to talk Drou into continuing the academy on her own.

How about the Super Bug apocalypse for 2, 4 and 6?

Sic Transit Bug

Delenn, Dana Scully, and Piper Halliwell

Dana Scully is called to San Francisco to investigate reports of blood-sucking insects that are killing homeless people who sleep in the streets. The insects are coming from Halliwell Manor, where they are pouring through a portal opened by Piper Halliwell in a misguided attempt to find a neutral place to sweep away the mess engendered by yet another encounter with demons. In desperation Piper uses a spell to bring someone with the answer to her problem to her. The portal narrows, almost closing but not quite, and the flow of bugs slows to a trickle. Going to the window in the attic she looks out and sees the insects scurrying away from the house into the surrounding streets. Turning around, she sees a petite woman in robes examining her makeshift altar and the burning candles thereon. It is Delenn.

Piper greets her in exasperation, pointing at the floor where the bugs are still milling about, and asking her how to get rid of them, only stopping when Delenn only stares at her with intense curiosity, asking if she is on Earth.

Piper rolls her eyes, then looks closely at the other woman, noting the circle of bony growth atop her hair. “Oh God,” she said. “Where did you come from?” Then she snapped “Don't answer that!” before Delenn could say a word. “Come with me,” she commands and heads down the stairs in search of sisterly help.

No one is home, and Leo, as usual, isn't answering her calls for help. Delenn is staring at the television screen. When Piper comes back in, fuming at the emptiness of the house, Delenn asked her if the bugs on the screen were the same as the ones in the attic that she was trying to get rid of. Dana is giving a press conference, announcing that the insects are dangerous and that the FBI and the San Francisco police are trying to track them back to the source. Piper swallows hard and says in a loud voice with rising pitch, “Dangerous?”

Delenn frowns and looks closely at the screen. “But those are ranner'ov. They are not dangerous,” she wrinkles her nose, “only disgusting.” Turning to Piper, she explains, “They are a minor annoyance in my time, difficult to contain but they can be controlled.” Piper reaches for the remote and increases the volume. She and Delenn listen intently to the rest of the information about the bugs.

Just then the doorbell rings. Piper answers it only to find the FBI in the person of Dana Scully on her doorstep. “I just saw you on TV,” she begins but Dana breaks in, “Taped earlier. Ms. Halliwell, is it?”

Dana glances at an open notebook in her hand. “We've tracked those insects back to your house.” Craning her neck, she looks up, “They seem to be coming down the walls. From that top window maybe? Can I come in?” She'd comes in the door but stops short at the sight of Delenn, who has come through the dining room into the hallway. Dana turns and hurriedly calls out the door. “Let me check this out. Canvass the street and see if they've invaded any other houses. I'll radio if I find anything.”

Closing the door behind her, she stalks further into the hall, one hand straying to her gun. Piper grits her teeth in frustration and prepares to freeze the FBI agent, but Delenn holds up one hand and Piper finds herself waiting to see what happens. Dana circles Delenn who patiently accepts her scrutiny.

“Are you...is that...?” Dana shakes her head. “I don't mean to stare.”

“I am not of this world,” says Delenn carefully. “This young woman brought me here to help her with her insect problem.” Turning to Piper, she adds regretfully, “I am not sure how I can help however.”

“You said they could be controlled,” replied Piper, “where you come from.” She glances doubtfully at Dana.

Dana is shaking her head and muttering to herself. “It can't be true, but if it's true, oh my God, why isn't Mulder here?” Addressing Delenn, she said, “If you can, you must help us. The few insects we've captured alive remain alive, despite our best efforts. More people will die unless we can figure out how to control the infestation.” Looking at Piper, she adds thoughtfully, “Or send them back where they came from?”

Piper looks guilty, then snaps, “I am trying, all right?”

Delenn glances up the stairs. “Can you open up that portal further so I can communicate through it?”

“Portal?” Dana says, still trying to covertly examine Delenn's bonecrest where it grew out of her skull.

“This way,” says Piper with a grumpy sigh.

Once in the attic, Piper goes to the Book of Shadows to re-examine the portal spell, while Dana examines the small hole in the air closely, before and behind. Delenn waits patiently in front of the portal, until it expands once again. “Can you move it?” asks Delenn, and Piper nods. Making a gesture with her index finger, the portal shifts from left to right. “Stop there,” says Delenn and she cautiously calls through the portal, addressing a monitor mounted on the wall. “Maintenance, please,” she says to the screen. It activates and after a moment clears to reveal a round-faced man who looks flustered but smiles broadly at the sight of her.

“How can I help you, ma'am?” he asks brightly.

“I am helping some friends who have a ranner'ov problem, Mack. Can you tell me what it is your people use to discourage them?”

Mack cranes his neck to look beyond Delenn, his eyes popping at the sight of Dana and Piper and the crowded attic of the old house. “Of course,” he says, turning to rummage behind him. “Here's the stuff,” he finally says, showing her the label. Dana is standing behind Delenn, rapidly writing down the chemical symbols.

“Thank you so much, Mack.” Delenn smiles at him. “Please remember me to Bo, would you? Oh, and would you mind terribly getting word to President Sheridan that I am detained here a while longer?”

“Yes, ma'am. Immediately, ma'am.” Mack signs off while still nodding his assent.

“President?” asks Piper, one eyebrow raised.

“My husband,” answers Delenn. Her face goes still. “I will be able to return home, will I not?” she asks quietly.

“If I can't manage it, my sisters and I together certainly will,” says Piper firmly.

Dana gestures towards the attic door. “I have to go get this made up and distributed throughout the city.” She looked at Piper. “You won't do this again, right? However you did it?” She looks at the portal again. “I don't suppose I really want to know how you did it.” Facing Delenn, she says, “Thank you for your help. I hope you get home all right.” Still shaking her head in disbelief, Dana heads down the stairs to finish her assignment, wondering how in the world she was going to write up this one.

What about your basic Bad Ass Aliens Take Over the Planet scenario for 1, 5 and 15?

Kindred Spirits

Anne Shirley, Lyta Alexander, Mary Poppins

Lyta Alexander is sent to Earth to forestall the takeover of the planet by Bad Ass aliens in the late 1800s. She has been told that she will find a warrior where Kosh has sent her, and also the motivation for the warrior to join in the struggle.

Lyta finds herself on the shore of the sea, with a cold wind blowing through her thin jumpsuit. She struggles against the bite of the gale, heading towards a light in a small cottage. Raising the old brass doorknocker and letting it drop, she is surprised to see the door open to reveal an obviously pregnant woman, who introduces herself as Anne Blythe. The weakness of the spirit of the child growing within the woman is apparent to Lyta, but she says nothing, not wanting to disrupt the Earth timeline with more information than she has to reveal.

Anne invites her in, and ushers her to a chair beside a blazing fire. Anne sits down on the other side of a low table, and offers Lyta a cup of tea. By her covert stares, Lyta can tell Anne is dying to ask about the telepath's presence and appearance, not to mention her clothes. Lyta has no idea why she was sent to this particular place, but if nothing else, she has learned patience working for the Vorlon so she settles down to wait.

Suddenly the door blows open, and in the door frame they see the outline of a tall angular woman wearing a flat straw hat with a bobbing flower stuck in the band.

“I am here!” she announces and steps over the threshold.

Anne tries to get up, but it is obviously a strain and Lyta comes forward to take the woman's parrot-headed umbrella. The head opens a beady eye and Lyta almost drops it. She props it aside a third chair facing the fireplace.

The new arrival's lips form into a thin smile. “Poppins is the name. You called me?”

Lyta shakes her head but Anne calls out from the wing back chair, “I advertised for a maid of all work, but I didn't expect anyone to come for an interview this time of night.” Mary Poppins inclines her head and sits on the edge of a straight-backed chair. Anne manages to rise with the offered assistance of Lyta's hand and heads to the kitchen for more hot water to freshen the tea.

“Kosh sent you, I expect,” Mary Poppins says to Lyta. “Humph. A slapdash effort, even for a Vorlon. He could have contacted me directly.”

Lyta sits in a daze, dumbly nodding.

“Aliens?” asks Mary Poppins. “Typical. Invade the backwoods of a barely inhabited province and hope no one notices you.” She picks up her umbrella and examines the parrot. “Are you ready for a bit of a spat?” The parrot nods.

Lyta gapes. “You're the warrior?”

Mary Poppins makes a rude noise. “I am a nursery governess. But this sort of thing can be handled without any trouble.”

Lyta looks towards the kitchen. “What does Mrs. Blythe have to do with this?”

Mary Poppins looks after Lyta, and her expression softens. “It's best when I'm called by a child in need.”

Lyta shakes her head. “I'm afraid there won't be a child. The thoughts are distant, not forming the way they should be.”

“Mrs. Blythe is the one who called.” Mary Poppins sniffs the air. “Nasty damp odor, those aliens have. Best get to work. Spit spot, Miss Lyta! Make my excuses to Anne, and meet me out by the headland. I do believe they are coming out of the sea.”

Lyta nods and heads to the kitchen to tell Anne her visitors have to go. They have work to do.
