I got home safely last evening, got lambasted by home stuff, attempted to sleep, didn't, and put off the alarm since a) I still have comp time left and b) it's not a pick-up-kid night so I can work late to make up hours/finish what needs finishing/start what needs starting.
However I forgot about the Super Bowl. It was a good game, wasn't it? We watched Downton Abbey during the blackout and a little longer. I stayed over a day so Mom would have company watching. She's a big football fan and my Dad crashes early these days. It also got me through my Dad's five days of no sun due to eye surgery. Lotsa vampire jokes, you betcha.
But I digress. I forgot about the parade. Big parade. Victory parade! Lots of people, lots of cars. Street closings. Packed parking. Traffic jams from hell.
I gave up on getting to work, turned around and ended at a Panera after getting cash, gas, and a car wash. I have updated credit card info on various websites, balanced my check book, and eaten an orange scone. Actually a productive morning. I keep checking the traffic on my phone. If it eases up I'll go on in this afternoon. Otherwise I'm heading home. Didn't mean to use up so much vacation time this early in the year. *sigh* But since I shut everything down before I left it's all stable at work. As far as I know... I just need to get in and get things going. I have a meeting tomorrow and an experiment Friday and set-up Friday and Sunday. So it'll get rolling soon enough.
Home or work, work or home? Think I'll go check my e-mail.
