Quick Update before I Meme Again

Aug 21, 2010 07:24

I've been up since 2 am, and this is my last two days before returning to work. Semi-productive insomnia, as I have imported my journal to Dreamwidth. (Yay!) That's a lot of entries...

And I posted a few more fics on AO3. I have been going in rough alphabetical order and am now through the A's! That's 11 fics, and, oh, about 10% of the total (groan). I only had to delete two cause of double posting and rampant formatting errors resulting from importing attempts. And may I say Thank God for the automatic draft saving feature of AO3? Cause sleep-deprived folk tend to hit the Close Browser 'X' rather than the Close Window 'X'. I'm just sayin'.

Everyone is still asleep. R leaves today to go pick up #1 as my Mom is not feeling up to the trip. It has dawned on me that she may never feel up to it again...that all the visits will be mine. This is better than no visits, certainly. But still a little sad. R is feeling very fatigued (a side effect) and will have to be evaluated as to drive-worthiness this morning. Otherwise I may have the lightning trip and he'll be staying home with #2.

Working on my meme assignments, also a post on the wonder that is Studio Ghibli (a fandom of mine I don't think I've ever rhapsodized about here!) #2 and I went to see Toy Story 3 day before yesterday (maudlin, but effective) and both of us squealed in delight at the Totoro doll. Want! Then I finally watched Whisper of the Heart yesterday afternoon and fell in love all over again. Spent the evening hunting down Totoro merchandise and adding the few Ghibli films we don't own (including Whisper) to the Amazon cart. Also hunting down icons!

I managed to add a few paragraphs to Heart's Desire last night too! *feels v. productive*

Has anyone else noticed that about four hours in to screen-staring the outside world fades away and all you see is lcd-brightness? It's like tunnel vision, and slightly scary.

The dog is stirring downstairs, so it's get dressed, get him walked, and then I'm off to the Farmer's Market to grab the CSA basket. If there's another slew of corn, I'm sending it with R to West Virginia. I can't eat any more of the stuff, and have no desire to spend my last two days shucking and stripping ears for freezing.
