The Tension Mounts, and I Fiddle

Mar 25, 2010 08:39

This is going to be a very tense week or so, with deadlines and decisions, re-adjustments and revelations. All Greek to you, I know, but that's all I can do.

Last night I went through all my fic and compiled a roster with word counts and dates posted (to LJ, since that is generally first). I am preparing to start archiving them at AO3 since that seems like a task that I'm up to in my current state. I think I'm going to use LJ as my major posting site, with ff.net still in the mix (they do love their J/D over there). I'll leave up old fics, warts and all, and prior versions too, at my journal. AO3 will have everything as well, but if a more polished revised version comes up, it will replace the old one. If I get too embarrassed in the future by some of my squeeful early stories, I can always orphan them. Is that reversible, btw?
I still have no idea what to do with Dreamwidth. I want to support them, but it feels oddly distanting to post there and let them cross-post to LJ. I don't know why.
I was appalled to find some typos and grammatical errors in old fics, but also pleased how well some of them hold up. If I don't get stuck revising them, this might go quickly. Famous last words.

This pretty well reflects my current mood:

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned...
