Having spent yesterday driving through the teeth of the storm to set up experiments, and having spent last night clearing out all the unwatched Netflix so we can all revel in Chuck! next week, and having spent the morning shoveling out the small car and clearing the driveway, and having made ham-n-bean soup and downloaded ebook software and sent out the first two parts of Chick Flick to be beta'd as well...I'm tired.
Have some interesting pictures and links.
Doctor Who and the Silver Spiral--I loved this story of Dr. Megan Argo, astronomer at Jodrell Bank, and her unique way of announcing her teams' discovery. Read it
here in her blog, and
this is the cover story in Scientific American. The discovery concerning supernova 2007gr is being published in Nature.
Doesn't Dr. Megan Argo sound like a Doctor Who companion's name??
Here is a very small animal (picture gakked from Shakesville), the scaly-eyed gecko.
And a very large animal (picture gakked from nakedcapitalism). The road is 1 1/2 cars wide (gulp.)
I have been following with interest the Amazon.com/Macmillan Publishing cage match over the pricing of e-books.

I still have not actually purchased an e-book for my reader, sticking to
Project Gutenberg titles. I set up everything to start borrowing books from my local library and reading them on my little Sony. I'll let you know how that goes.
Chick Flick? About 16K now. Will this story never end??
