After all these years I've become a Deadhead

I saw them for the third time last night at Freight and Salvage in Berkeley. I went with my friend Ted and my friend Sheila. Don accompanied Ted's wife to their regular book club meeting where they discussed City of God
Something has been puzzling me since 1973. I had this Jesus freak suite mate and she made a comment about some guy becoming a Jesus Freak and how he was going to have to give up his Grateful Dead albums. Since I wasn't familiar with them at the time I didn't really know why they would be particularly bad for a Jesus Freak to own. I still don't know what that was all about. Sure there was a drug culture associated with the band and fans. But the music itself is mostly about positive themes such as hope and love and independence. These days it almost seems quaint compared to some of that rap garbage.
I scored big time today with 2 of my favorite things. First of all there was free compost down in Redwood City. I filled 2 recycling bins and 3 rubber tubs.
I took Don to the airport in San Jose (He's going to the Power Supply show in Dallas). I stopped by the new giant Whole Foods to see if they had Familia Meusli. The Redwood City store stopped carrying it. I bought 4 of the 5 boxes they had.
Now I just have to deal with the compost enough to retrieve one of the bins to put the recycling in. It goes out tomorrow night.
My neighbors are having a Halloween party tomorrow afternoon. I still need a costume. If I can't think of anything, I guess I will have to wear the Hobermann Sphere on my head again. I also have to bring some food.
I also need to do bee stuff. The ants are getting in the hive. I need to put it on bricks in saucers and put water in the saucers. I have everything I need, I just need to do it.
There are interesting rumors at work regarding us being acquired but that will go into a protected post. Also we are supposed to be at work at 8:30 now. Also there is a company meeting on Monday morning. Maybe there will some news. I've been there a year now, so I've vested 1/4 of my stock options. Since it is pre IPO that doesn't mean much. However being acquired could change that.
