Thanks to Miss Cam, for posting about this.
Pepsi Refresh has this thing, where they donate... $25,000, I think, to the top ten charities people choose by vote online.
Fiction Alley, a Harry Potter fandom site,
has decided they're running. This may not seem too big! Until you look at the charities that they're running against.
- Bring artist designed clothing and warmth to 500 homeless babies in NY
- Students create animal sculptures/books for Children's Hospital in WNY
- Purchase musical instruments and supplies for high poverty school
- Empower women in verbally abusive or controlling relationships
- Give under-privileged children free guitars and lessons
- Create a dance program in Clayton, NC for youth with cerebral palsy
- Dance & art therapy for children with autism and their families
- Provide museum experiences for children and adults with special needs
- Fight Against Human Trafficking & Empower Survivors
- SWOOP in and build wheelchair ramps for people in need.
- Help the Unemployed Feed their animals of Florida
- Start an aquaponics program to raise lettuce for the school cafeteria.
- Create a Life Saving Prison Dog Partnership (Don't Throw Us Away)

Uh, yeah. I'm torn between despair, rage, and... hurt. Just... hurt. This world-- ai.
More here, and
here.
So. In a way, I'm glad this happened, because now I know about the Pepsi Refresh charity.
