Keeping Up
So I'm going to try REALLY hard not to keep abandoning one journal when I start up the other. But honestly, pretty much everything I want to talk about is in the other one. Anyway, what I wanted to talk about here was my New Year's Resolutions.
Yes, that's right...almost four months into 2008, it's about time for a little update to see how I'm doing with these things. Actually, I think I only really want to update about it because I'm doing pretty well with them. Otherwise I wouldn't give a crap.
Anyway, my 2008 goals were to:
1. Move to Belgium.
2. Learn French.
3. Get a job.
4. Remember birthdays.
5. Pay student loans.
6. Take business/computer class.
7. Go on Taglit trip.
Done, done, done. Okay, I did move to Belgium, and I did learn French, although not fluently...but it's a start! I can understand some rap and all of "Aisha." That's good enough for me.
I also got a job! It's not a writing job, per se, but it'll help me improve my blog, so maybe I can have that writing job someday in the future. Also, I was in training for a news writing job when I was accepted into AFA, so maybe that kind of counts. I am also doing much better at remembering birthdays. There might be a couple I've forgotten, but I'm trying really hard (if you're not on Facebook, I cannot be held responsible for forgetting). I haven't paid any student loans yet, but I'm hoping that this job will help make that possible by June, when my forbearance runs out. I still haven't taken a business class, but man I'm learning more than I ever wanted to know about business in this job! Seriously. As for the Taglit trip, I forgot to register in February, so I have to wait until August. :( I can still make it!
