We have recently purchased
buggy #3, with a view to selling
buggy #1. I have really loved buggy #1, but with the nanny share approaching, we needed a buggy that could accommodate two babies. It's comfier to push than buggy #1, with big, inflated wheels and a padded handlebar, but it's a lot wider and less nippy than #1. If I had been thinking things through when buying a buggy, I might have just gone ahead and bought #3 anyway, since if we have another baby before Aisling is 4, we'd probably want a double buggy anyway. And then I wouldn't have been spoiled by having a main buggy that's lightweight and easy to get on public transportation.
Buggy #2 will fill that function (and it is awfully cute - we bought the
butterflies version off e-bay), but Aisling doesn't sleep very well in it.
The universe seems to have been smacking me upside the head recently telling me to get myself sorted out, so I had my first session with a new counsellor yesterday. It was pretty emotional, but I think I will get along with the counsellor. I've bought myself a bit of time by deferring teacher training by a year. I was also headhunted by one of the big banks, so I will have a year of even better pay while I steel myself for the emotional stress of turning my life upside down (again).
We have been missing our boy Fi, but a new mankitty is attempted to insinuate himself into our lives. He is a real
Six Dinner Sid, who comes begging for food to our house every morning. He had a collar, but it was looking pretty frayed, so I suspected he might be a lost kitty, so I kept an eye out for ads, posting on the
EDF, etc. Then he lost his collar for a few days so I was sure he was a stray. He's very lean. Today he turned up with a sparkly new collar (with bell), so now I know he is just greedy - and attempting to exploit my soppy nature to fatten up!
