If it were a mosquito, I'd swat it

The (soccer) world cup is on right now, which means that my living room is filled with the constant drone of vuvuzelas whenever C is home. They are seriously headache-inducing, but I know it's a big deal for him, so I'm drinking plenty of water and soldiering on.
I just had a week away with the women from my NCT class and our babies. It was really lovely - we joked about setting up a female-only commune where we could raise the babies together and then men would just come to pleasure us every so often. Preferably in a luxurious home in the countryside like the one we were staying in. I'm sure it's been done somewhere before.
As it's not going to happen, though, and I'm contemplating returning to work in September and need to fit into my work clothes, I am giving up alcohol for at least six weeks, which should be very healthy, though I will miss having a glass of wine with C in the evenings. However, I'm not going to get back to my pre-baby weight simply by staring in the mirror and announcing my intentions, so no more wine it is. One of the other women I was away with, A, (who is already gorgeously blond and thin and perfect) has said she'll do it with me, and we will be giving each other regular updates (though I believe her intention is to abstain Mon-Fri and then have a drink at the weekend).
So, I will keep A posted, and I may keep my journal posted if I start to feel like I'm going to climb the walls just because I've told myself I *can't* have it.
