Characters: Ricalna Forde eachpurpose & Minato Arisato lamentingxstasy When: Early afternoon, I think. What: Ricalna and Minato are exploring Joie de Vivre. Rating: PG-13
This world had no sun - which made this world gloomy, yet beautiful at the same time - Ricalna found that he was liking this world a little more than what others seem to have experienced so far. He told himself the reason why he seemed to like this place was because there was no war, no fighting for him to do.
Though Ricalna didn't ponder too much about his own personal likings for this world; because he was currently rushing over to meet up with Minato. He was glad that he remembered where the train station was at; and it didn't take him long to find Minato on the stairway where they first met.
"Minato!" Ricalna grinned just as he lifted a hand up to wave to the younger boy, "I hope you didn't wait too long?"
Minato, of course, wasn't the type of person that would constantly look down at his wrist watch just to see whether the person was either early, on time, or late. Actually, he was the type that would usually go with the flow; the person's flow, usually as he rarely thinks much about himself to begin with. The moment he heard Ricalna's voice and spotted his approaching figure, he removed the headphones from his ears as he switched his mp3 player off. Minato stood from his seat as he lifted a hand and waved at his new acquaintance.
"I didn't wait long." He replied in his soft voice as he began to scan his surroundings for a brief moment before looking back towards Ricalna.
"Ah, that's good then," Ricalna smiled, happy at the answer he was given. He was given lectures all day, back where he came from, about being punctual about time and whatnot. Quite a hassle in Ricalna's opinion.
He then watched as Minato began to look at their surroundings, which prompt Ricalna in asking a new question, "Is there anywhere you want to start exploring specifically? Or should we go where ever our feet takes us?"
He remained silent despite how Ricalna had responded to his words. Minato didn't feel the need to respond. Perhaps it was because he felt that the other didn't really need one at the moment, but he responded when he was spoken to so perhaps his silent persona wasn't that much of a problem.
Minato thought briefly about the answer before actually replying. He didn't usually choose the particular route when he was with someone. He'd rather just blend in or perhaps just go with the flow of the person.
"The second option sounds nice," he began as he managed a small smile. "unless you have a place you'd like to go first."
It wasn't long until Ricalna received an answer from the younger boy; and when he did get an answer Ricalna just grinned before lightly patting Minato on the back with the palm of his hand. "I have no places I need to visit either," He continued to grin just as he stretched out his arms high above his head.
"So wandering around aimlessly it is ~ " He spoke in a singing-song voice; then lifting his feet and beginning to make his way out of the train station. Though he made sure to wait for Minato, making sure the other was ready to leave as well.
Wandering aimlessly wasn't such a bad idea, he thought. That way, they'll both get a good view of Joie de Vivre. Perhaps they'll find something that may catch their eye such as a home that they are able to reside in for their stay in this world or maybe even a job that they're interested in. Either way, they'll find out in this little adventure of theirs.
Although Minato was staring straight ahead, making sure to catch up to Ricalna so he wouldn't slow him down, he was suddenly reminded of one of his companions back at home. There was some sort of longing in him, but he was quite sure it'll disappear. After all, even though he didn't mind being alone, he had someone that was able to keep him entertained for awhile.
Joie de Vivre was really different from where Ricalna came from. For one thing he didn't have to worry about some sort of ambush or attack coming out of nowhere, this place was too peaceful for any fights to happen in - and it made Ricalna wonder if he should stop carrying his guns around everywhere with him since it might attract unwanted attention...
Ah, Ricalna blinked himself back to reality, realized that the two of them were out of the train station already, and that they passed by a few tiny stores. Though none of them seemed to have caught Ricalna's attention, he wondered if he was imposing Minato by dragging Minato with him on this little adventure. "Are you alright? You seem... how do I say this? A little out of it?"
Minato's thoughts didn't consist of much. He just continued to follow Ricalna and since he was rather athletic, he was able to keep up with no problem at all. He placed his hands within the depths of his pockets as he felt a breeze blowing past him. His hair began to ruffle as it danced in front of his eyes before it settled down into the gentle night air. He shifted is gaze over towards the older male as he blinked at his question.
"I'm alright." He answered as he wasn't quite sure why Ricalna had asked, but he didn't ponder too long about it. "I'm sorry if I appear that way."
"Hmm, really?" Ricalna didn't mean to pry into the other's business, though he just wanted to make sure that nothing was wrong of any sort. "Nah, it's alright. I should be the one apologizing," He smiled at Minato for a few seconds, then returned his eyes to the road in front of them. "I'm usually butting into other people's business. So there's nothing wrong with you at all ~ "
The two of them past by a few more shops and buildings, and Ricalna made sure to keep these places and their addresses in mind; in case he needed to visit them in the future. "If there's any place you want to stop by, just hollar and we'll go check it out together."
Ricalna and Minato were obviously quite opposite from one another. He wasn't quite sure whether he should be grateful that his male acquaintance was able to hold a conversation with a taciturn such as himself, though he wasn't quite sure whether he should feel bad for not speaking much either.
"There's nothing wrong with that." He said softly as he lowered his gaze, noticing for the first time his shadow that the moon that placed upon the concrete floor. "It shows that you care."
Right after Ricalna spoken those words, his stomach began to growl. Minato began to gaze down upon his stomach as he heard yet another growl. He was hungry, he registered, but he didn't say a word. He just continued to walk as he gave Ricalna a thumbs up, showing that he understood his words.
Ricalna felt a little better when saw that both he and Minato were standing on the same wavelength with each other. Or, at least, they sort of did in the way that each understood the other without finding the other being offensive or anything.
"Haha..." He chuckled quietly just as he lifted a hand to scratched the back of his head with, "I have been told that I'm too soft-hearted for my own good."
Then, the noises coming from the town and nature itself was quite loud. Though not loud enough for Ricalna to not be able to hear that growl just now. Ricalna wanted to laugh, but he didn't want to embarrass the younger boy, so he settled for a grin. "Want to grab something to eat before we continue exploring?"
Though right after Ricalna asked, he forgot one important key factor. "Ah, I forgot... I don't have any money on me."
Minato began to wonder whether the Dark Hour took place in this world. It was always dark, of course, but he couldn't help but to wonder whether he will have to defeat the monsters in Joie de Vivre. If the answer were to be a 'yes', he would, of course, have to follow through the course of his lifestyle. For the most part, nothing terrible was happening and it was safe to say that he was relieved
( ... )
"You really think so?" It surprised Ricalna, just a little, when Minato mentioned about finding his 'soft-hearted' trait to be admirable. This was something certainly new; because, where Ricalna came from, being soft-hearted and kind would just get him killed. Though he thought that if nobody was going to attempt to be nice to the next person over, then the fighting and killing would continue nonstop. "Haha, well, thanks."
Though rather than getting 'mushy' with their conversation, Ricalna looked over to Minato who had pulled out money. The paper bills were certainly different than from what Ricalna had in his world. "Hm, I wonder if this world accepts any sort of currency?"
A golden and red set of eyes then started to search left and right, looking for a specific building. "Or... if there's a bank here we can see about exchanging your money for the currency that is used here."
The moment he had asked that, Minato gave his head a simple nod. As far as anyone can see, he wasn't a liar and he honestly didn't and will never find a reason to do so to begin with. Enjoying life was what he did. Sure, his parents were deceased and he had to live life fighting to protect others from the Dark Hour and the Apathy Syndrome, but despite of all that, he didn't think life was all that bad.
"I hope you don't mind looking for a bank for the time being. . ." Minato said softly as he placed the dollar bills into his pocket again, making sure that they were safe there so the night breeze wouldn't blow them away from their grasp.
"I don't mind at all!" Ricalna grinned, arms folded and placed behind his head as he walked on. He wasn't the type who would object to things or matters; the only time when Ricalna might disagree with someone else's choice is in concerns of hurting the innocent or fighting of some sort...
"A bank is a pretty important place. So it would be good to figure out where one is right now anyway." Ricalna had recalled that another person, that he met earlier, mentioned about getting a job to earn savings to live off of. If that was the case, then a bank was definitely needed to store their money away safely.
It was a good thing that they were both in an agreement about heading to the bank, or at least finding one. Usually, he wouldn't lead unless he was ordered to do so when it came to the S.E.E.S organization, however this was a foreign world and he'd much prefer to be the follower, the person that blends in no matter what he'd do.
". . . You're right." Minato stated and he had said nothing more. He kept his mouth shut as he made sure to keep an eye out for a bank nearby. It was a good thing that the stars were present along with the glowing moon or he would have had trouble navigating his way in this darkness.
